How to download a new effect?

To download new additional effects, you can do it through the effects Store that you find at the top right corner of the screen (Cloud icon)

Choose the effect you prefer and select the “download effect” button. At this point, the downloaded effects will be available in the Gallery.

IMPORTANT NOTE: remember that this procedure is only available if your phone is connected to the Internet (home wi-fi or 4G network). If your devices are connected to the Twinkly network, the App will not allow you to download new effects (you will have to disconnect from the Twinkly network and connect to an Internet network).

What to do if Twinkly setup was successful, but the lights don’t respond to commands?

If you’ve successfully connected Twinkly but can’t use the lights, follow these simple steps:

  1. In the Twinkly app, open “Devices” and check that the Twinkly device is selected
  2. If this doesn’t work, close completely the Twinkly app and launch it again
  3. If this doesn’t work, try to Reset

What to do if the lights are on but blocked?

If the lights are on but stuck, we suggest you follow a few steps:

  1. Briefly press the button on the controller
  2. If this doesn’t work, unplug the power supply, wait 30 seconds, and plug it again
  3. If this won’t work, try to Reset

What to do if the lights do not switch on?

If after plugging Twinkly into the power outlet the lights don’t switch on, you can follow a few little tricks that should help you solve the problem:

  • Check that the power adapter is plugged in and that the controller is correctly connected to the device
  • Check that the LED status indicator on the controller is lit
  • Briefly press the button on the controller
  • If this doesn’t work, unplug the power adapter, wait 30 seconds and plug in again

Moreover, if the light on the controller remains off, it could be a problem related to the power supply. In this case, if you have other Twinkly devices at home, we suggest you try temporarily replacing the power supply with that of another device to see if it works.

If so, it probably needs to be replaced.

I can’t apply/download the effect, any help?

If you have trouble applying or saving effects, some simple tips may help.

  • Scenario 1 => I can’t download effects: Be sure to be connected to the internet (Twinkly direct connection creates a network for your device to communicate, but doesn’t provide internet connection)
  • Scenario 2 => I can’t apply effects: check your connection status, and be sure to be close enough to your router so that the app can easily communicate with your device.

Also remember that to apply the effect you have to tap on the related button, otherwise if you leave the preview mode too early, it won’t be saved!

Moreover, check that the Twinkly App is not open in background on more than one phone.

I can’t save my Playlist, any help?

In case you have problems saving your Playlist, we suggest to follow this couple of tricks:

  • use the “Erase Device Effects” function, in your app settings, it will be useful to delete the memory.
  • be sure not to have put in too many effects, which could cause problems saving Playlist.

Are there any tricks to solve my Generation II device connection problems? What’s a WPS procedure?

This procedure is useful to facilitate the connection between Twinkly GEN II and the Wi-Fi network. It is based on the WPS connection mode of your router.

Normally it doesn’t require any password.

  • – Hold down the controller button for about 10 seconds until the light turns purple
  • – Click on the WPS button of your router (some have an icon that remembers the “refresh” symbol). Be careful not to click on the “reset” button 🙂
  • – Wait until the light turns blue
  • – Log in to the app and check if the app finds the device.

What can I do to solve my Twinkly Music connection problems? What’s a WPS procedure?

This procedure is useful when you have connection problems between the Twinkly Music and the Wi-Fi network, this way you’ll connect it directly through the router:

  • – Reset your dongle
  • – Hold down the controller button for about 10 seconds until the LED turns purple
  • – Click on the WPS button of your router (some have an icon that remembers the “refresh” symbol). Be careful not to click on the “reset” button 🙂
  • – Wait until the light turns blue
  • – Log in to the app and check if the app finds the device (be sure to be connected to your Wi-FI).

I can’t see the Twinkly_XXXXXX Wi-Fi network in the Wi-Fi network list

If your device is connected to the power supply, check if the lights on the controller are on.

Scenario 1

  • On the controller, a steady green light is on.
  • If the Twinkly_XXXXXX list doesn’t come up in the available Wi-Fi lists, probably something is causing interference.
    Please try to move your Twinkly to another room/building and try to exclude or confirm this kind of issue.

Scenario 2

  • On the controller a blinking green/blue (Generation 1) or red/blue (Generation II) light on.
  • Twinkly is trying to connect to the local wifi network: reset your Twinkly and try again.

How can I reset my Twinkly Music?

The Reset procedure is useful to take back Twinkly Music to factory default conditions:

  • Unplug Twinkly Music from the power outlet.
  • Press and hold the button on the Twinkly Music. While holding the button, plug back in the power outlet.
  • Keep holding the button until the LED indicator becomes solid white, then release the button.

Twinkly Music is now back to factory settings!
