  • Control Twinkly remotely using devices like Google Home and Amazon Alexa
  • Update the Firmware

Connecting to the local Wi-fi network is part of the first guided Twinkly Setup:

If you have a Generation II device and you can’t use the Bluetooth connectivity, follow this guide.

Please be sure you already have established a Direct Connection with your Twinkly.
On the controller you can see a steady green light.

Solution n°1
If you want to change the network to which the device is connected, you can open the app, select “device” on the bottom right corner of the screen, select the gear icon right to the device’s name, and then click on “Network”.
Now, you will see a dropdown menu with a list of the networks available.

The app will automatically scan for available devices and will guide you through the configuration. Tap on the “Use your Wi-fi” button to make Twinkly join your local Wi-fi network.

Solution n° 3

If you can’t see any Twinkly in the list, or if you see a grey dot icon next to your device, please be check if you’re directly connected to your Twinkly network from the Wi-Fi settings menu of your smartphone.
Tap on your device gear icon to access the Device Details screen:

The app will scan for the available local Wi-Fi networks.
Select the one you want to connect your Twinkly at.
Type the password and click on “Connect”.  This process may take up to 30 seconds

Congrats!

Your Twinkly is now connected to your local Wi-Fi network.
Please be sure to be connected with your smartphone to the same local Wi-Fi network.
The direct connection between your Twinkly and your Smartphone is now over.
The Twinkly_XXXXXX Wi-Fi network is no more available in your smartphone Wi-Fi lists.
On your Generation I controller now you can see two steady lights on, one green and one blue.
On your Generation II controller now you can see a blue steady light on.
Your smartphone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network you choose for your Twinkly.
You can easily verify on which network your Twinkly is actually connected from the Menu > Devices > Twinkly_XXXXXX > Network.
In order to manage more than one Twinkly from the same smartphone, tap on “+” – add a new device- and repeat the complete procedure: directly connect the new Twinkly to your smartphone, then connect the new Twinkly to the same local Wi-Fi network.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This process is available for all generation I and II devices like Strings, Curtain, Icicle, Cluster, Prelit, Festoon, and Home Range devices (Line, Flex)
